Starting Salary Range: $45,800-$63,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Involves developing, promoting and supporting the operational and strategic aspects of intercollegiate student athlete programs, including planning, scheduling, budget administration and travel.
Under the general direction of the Athletics Director, the Assistant Athletic Director serves as the primary Sports Information professional for 15 men's and women's intercollegiate sports at UC Santa Cruz. The position is responsible for establishing a strong affinity with internal and external constituents, building and maintaining a coordinated voice for all social media and web content and enhancing the distribution of team and individual results. Additionally, the position is responsible for marketing and promoting UCSC Athletics through publications and media outlet
Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Ensures accountability and stewardship of department resources in compliance with departmental standards and procedures.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
Must possess CPR/AED/First Aid certification or have the ability to obtain it within 60 days of hire.
Must possess a valid license to drive in the State of California and be able to participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) pull notice program.
Will be required to complete Title IX (Sexual Harassment) training within one month of hire and training every two years.
Will be required to complete the Basic Cash Handling (16 minute video & 10 question quiz) training and pass the quiz with a score of 80% or greater within one month of hire.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience and/or training with a college-level program.
A working knowledge of every sport offered by the UCSC including rules and regulations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a large number of constituents: administrators, staff, students, alumni and media professionals.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
