Laredo Heat is looking for a Director of Coaching
Laredo Heat is a Youth Club in Laredo Texas with aspirations of becoming a Development Academy in the near future.
Laredo Heat won the USL-PDL Championship in 2007 and played in the National final in 2006, 2008 and 2011. Laredo is a hot bed of soccer talent situated on the Mexican border. (www.laredoheatsc.com)
DOC will be in charge of
• Player Development
• Annual Training Plan and Curriculum Development
• Coaching Education and Development
• Talent Identification and Development (Scouting)
• Multi-Year Program Development
• Parent Relations Development
• Child Protection Program
• Fundraising
The Role and Duties of the Club DOC is not limited by the following:
• Develops a Club Philosophy in line with the Mission and
• Vision Statements of the Club.
• Cultivates a “Love of the Game”
• Communicates the Club training philosophy and curriculum guidelines to all coaches and players in the U6 through U14 age groups.
• Takes the necessary measures so that the Values of the Club are internalized by all coaches, players and parents.
• Engages parent feedback and concerns; provides mediation between parents and coaches as appropriate.
• Oversees, selects and manages the work performed by all coaches U6 through U14
• Monitors player development and player evaluations of each player in the U6 – U14 age groups.
• Organizes Coach Education for all coaches for U6 through U14 age groups.
• Organizes and runs tryouts
• Markets the Club
• Budgets all programs annually and submits to the Board for approval
• Attends Board meetings
• Organizes camps and clinics
• Communicates with other local and national organizations
• Plans and executes fundraising
• Organizes tournaments
• Research grants and potential Federal funding
• Coach a U13 or U14 Boys’ competitive team
Abilities and Attributes:
• Demonstrates leadership qualities
• Excellent communication and dispute resolution skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to motivate youth players and coaches and colleagues
• Possess integrity, humbleness, motivation, courage and a love for the game
• Committed to working in a non-traditional work schedule
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and social media
• Ability to communicate with the Board and colleagues for a vision for the future Club success
Prerequisites:
USSF A License or equivalent
Coaching Experience: Director of Coaching experience preferred or a minimum of five (5) years coaching youth
Bilingual (Spanish, English)
