Plan and develop daily business functions for various departments within the athletic organization.
Ensure the athletic organization maintains a favorable public and stakeholder perception while fulfilling the organization's strategic mission.
• Plan or direct development or communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perceptions of an athletic department.
• Prepare or edit releases for internal and external audiences, including social and other media.
• Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for coaches and student-athletes to increase awareness or to promote goodwill.
• Research topics using the internet, video archives, and other informational sources.
• Write and edit news stories from information collected by reporters and other sources.
• Level of supervision received.
• Describe the amount of supervision this position receives.
• Moderate - Access to supervisor and/or lead coworker, when needed.
• Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three (3) year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven (7) years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related area.
