The Assistant Baseball Coach reports to the Head Baseball Coach in the coordination of day-to-day aspects of the program (practice and game preparation, recruiting, fundraising, camps, community involvement, and other duties as assigned.)
Baseball Duties (60% of job)
•Serve as the primary pitching coach, under the direction of the head coach.
•Monitoring of student-athletes’ academic performance and athletic eligibility.
•Recruiting students to meet enrollment goals as determined annually by administration.
•Assist in the organization and planning of practice.
•Game day preparation, management, and statistics.
•Assist with field maintenance, coordination of fundraisers, equipment inventory, team travel, and meal accommodations.
•Maintaining appropriate and positive professional media relations.
•Responsible for knowing and complying with all rules & regulation of the NAIA and North Star Athletic Association.
•Assuming other duties as assigned by the College and/or Athletic Director and Head Coach.
The Assistant Sports Information Director reports to the Sports Information Director and is responsible for assisting with Presentation College athletic events (game day set up, statistics, publishing stories, the Saints website, and other duties as assigned.)
•Maintain current information on College and Saints website in accordance with NAIA and NSAA regulations.
•Attend all home athletic events and make arrangements for staffing of game day help for all home events, track and accurately report statistics for each sport including checking statistics for all home and away games, make arrangements with home and visiting media for coverage of home games, and issue information to various media outlets.
•Knowledge of Dakstat / Statcrew programs is preferred but not required
•Develop and maintain appropriate and positive professional media relationships.
•Serve as a liaison between Presentation College and NAIA.
•Approve and publish press releases for Saints Athletics.
•Manage and promote Saints Athletics through all current channels of Social media.
•Provide information for Saints recruitment.
•Other duties as assigned by the Sports Information Director.
Prior college baseball coaching or playing experience required.
Knowledge of mechanics, drills, and philosophy for pitching is required.
