Description
1.Coordinate with Associate AD Community Engagement to develop and oversee the master External Relations plan, specifically towards efforts in external and internal (campus) marketing. With a focus on generating revenue through its various properties for LMU Athletics department and its collaboration with its outsourced ticket sales partner as it pertains to LMU's 22 varsity sports. Oversee the implementation of the plan and all associated duties.
2.Coordinate all digital marketing efforts including strategy development and implementation of targeted digital campaigns, development of social media communications, enhancing the LMU Athletics brand as well as analytics reporting with other duties as assigned. Ensure efforts are aligned, integrated with and supportive of the university’s overall branding, marketing, and communications direction and framework.
3.Develop, implement, and oversee execution of marketing campaigns for tier 1 and tier 2 sports programs such as men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. Ensure efforts are aligned, integrated with and supportive of the university’s overall branding, marketing, and communications direction and framework.
4.Serve as sport supervisor for LMU Cheer program. Advise various Athletics student groups and use them as brand ambassadors and marketing tools for the athletics department including SAAC, The Cage student group, and Lion Pride Dance team.
5.Budget responsibility for several Marketing operating and booster club accounts including budget oversight, budget tracking, reconcile discrepancies, and establish/implement procedures to monitor expenses and expedite reconciliation; accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc. Ensure compliance with all University business and internal control policies.
6.Build and maintain relationships of on campus and community based constituents, including Follett and Sodexo in enhancing the home event operations related to each entity. Represent LMU Athletics within alumni, booster and fan communities and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required.
7.Develop on campus initiatives and programming geared to enhancing campus spirit (Madness, Basketball BBQ, Tailgates, Student Affairs Spirit Committee events etc.) to generate cross campus branding, and to increase attendance at home events.
• Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Sports Management or similar discipline or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
• Minimum 4 year’s experience with an emphasis in sports administration or marketing fields.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: relationship management and/or client relations. Ability to manage complex projects with dependencies, deadlines, budgets and outside resources. Ability to implement marketing and communication principles and strategies in the execution of assigned projects. Ability to initiate ideas, develop concepts and review the effectiveness of processes to ensure professional standards and high quality. Ability to assess the needs of clients and suggest appropriate measures to meet those needs. Ability to work effectively and independently with internal and external constituencies. Ability to operate in an environment in which skilled relationship management and consensus-building is required to deliver successful outcomes.
• Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
