Position Description
Seattle University is a highly selective, independent, Catholic, Jesuit institution adjacent to downtown Seattle, and is seeking a dynamic and proven athletics department professional to serve as its Assistant Athletic Director for Ticketing and Development.
Located on Capitol Hill, one of Seattle's most vibrant neighborhoods, Seattle University is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States and currently enrolls more than 7,400 graduate and undergraduate students within nine schools and colleges. Seattle University is among the most diverse independent universities in the West: 40 percent of its students are from ethnically diverse backgrounds and students come from 77 nations and all 50 states. Seattle University employs approximately 1,500 faculty and staff and has an annual operating budget of over $210M.
The university's athletic program fields 20 Division I intercollegiate teams (9 men's and 11 women's) and is comprised of more than 320 student athletes. The Redhawks, Seattle University's athletic teams, compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in all sports and have an excellent track record of achievement both on the field and court and in the classroom. In the five years with the WAC, the Redhawk teams have a combined 31 WAC conference titles, including both team and individual championships.
Job Description
The Assistant Athletics Director for Ticketing and Development has the primary responsibility of generating revenue through ticket sales and the annual fund. Responsibilities include planning, oversight, management, and coordination of the ticketing office and staff. Additionally, as a key member of the development team, responsibility for management and day-to-day support of the annual fund's mail, phone, crowdfunding/social media campaigns, promotional sales' tactics, and development activation and support for fundraising events and activities.
Ticketing Operations
• Create and lead an exemplary sales and customer service culture.
• Devise and execute strategy to meet ticket revenue goals, including individual, season, and group ticket sales; assists in the sale of corporate suites and premium seating.
• Retain and establish relationships with current season ticket holders and donors by providing superior customer service for ticketed sports at SU; including volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball and men's and women's soccer.
• Responsible for hiring, training and the management of ticket office staff and game day ticket operations, including management of part-time, student and volunteer staff.
• Manage and supervise all ticketing operations including staffing, cash control, event management and ticketing third party/vendor relations.
• Develop and implement ticket manifest including establishing prices, packages, and special offers.
• Monitor and maintain CRM information.
• Provide strategic leadership to devise new development initiatives and suggest best practices for utilizing the ticketing/development database; including use of social media and other online, media, application, and technology-related programming.
• Organize and manage campaigns with prospects through telephone, email, and in person connections, while growing revenues and the SU fan base.
• Designs and creates collateral for electronic and direct mail advertising, ticket collateral, and print and digital advertising in collaboration with the SU marketing team.
• Coordinate with campus OIT Department, Ticketmaster and vendors associated with sales for technical and operational needs for the ticket/donor database and development activities.
• Coordinate with the business office to reconcile ticket office financials.
• Coordinate with third party ticket vendors, including managing the ticket printing process.
Development Operations
• Enhance and implement the annual fundraising plan and provide general team support.
• Design and create donor solicitation and cultivation materials and collateral, including newsletter, direct mail campaign, web, email solicitation, and crowdfunding efforts.
• Manage CRM, including gift entry, list management and report creation, maintain accurate constituent reports, and ensure overall data integrity.
• Manage the donor acknowledgement process.
• Provide event support, which may include tracking event RSVP responses, managing and executing guest registration, managing event volunteers, and/or managing in-kind revenue.
• Educate Athletics Department users with the Raiser's Edge software.
• Maintain the data integrity between the Athletics' database and the Raiser's Edge software.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Prefer at least 2 years' experience and success in athletic ticket sales
• Development and donor management operations preferred
• Experience with CRM systems (Archtics, Raiser's Edge)
• Preference given to candidates with experience using the Adobe Creative Suite
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective and creative ticket sales strategies across multiple platforms and channels
• Knowledge of, and compliance with NCAA conference and institution rules that relate to this position
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Experience hiring and managing student and temporary staff preferred
• Strong customer service orientation with extensive experience in effectively addressing and resolving issues with a diverse range of internal and external constituents
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and a relentless drive toward outcomes
• Possess and demonstrate interpersonal skills such that one can work independently and in a multi-layered team environment, while fostering teamwork and cooperation
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to perform under deadline pressure and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with conflicting deadlines
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, with flexibility to travel with assigned teams as required.
