POSITION SUMMARY:
Under moderate supervision and with moderate latitude for independent judgment, the assistant director of athletics for compliance assists with the overall management and oversight of the athletic department. Provides leadership and coordination of the Pratt Intercollegiate Athletic Program and shares responsibility for the supervision of all of the activities related to compliance. This position is also the Senior Administrator. This position will supervise the sports information assistant and assist in promoting athletics and recreation across campus. This position will also assist the Director with the transition to NCAA, Division III membership. The Athletics and Recreation Department is committed to providing a wide range of activities and services that assist Pratt students of various backgrounds and abilities in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
--Manage day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics’ compliance program.
--Develop and implement athletics compliance policies and procedures.
--Administer, educate, monitor and enforce institutional, HVIAC and NCAA compliance policies and procedures for all intercollegiate athletic teams.
--Develop a comprehensive educational compliance program for all institutional coaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff regarding HVIAC and NCAA rules and regulations.
--Oversee and coordinate athletic team schedules.
--Maintain contracts for all home athletic contests.
--Coordinate officials for all home athletic contests.
--On/off-campus supervision of athletic contests.
--Supervise sports information assistant.
--Collaborate with campus departments to increase campus interest and involvement of intercollegiate athletics.
--Assist the sports information assistant with marketing and promotions of the athletic department.
--Coordinate and execute end of year athletic banquet.
--Oversee and coordinate student services (Ex: SAAC).
--Assist in budget development for athletic department.
--Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
Experience: 2-3 years' of compliance experience at the NCAA Division III level. 2-3 years' of compliance experience at the collegiate level.
Knowledge and Skills: Effective organizational and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work well in diverse environment.
License: Valid NYS Driver’s License.
