Topgolf is looking for a Director of PR who will work to drive Topgolf brand awareness and shape perception through earned media focused on cultural moments, Topgolf moments and influencer advocacy.

Based in San Francisco, Topgolf Media creates and distributes advanced media content, enabling the Topgolf community to experience the best times of their lives. The division enhances in-venue golf games as well as creating experiences outside of the venues with apps, websites and virtual experiences. Key Responsibilities:
• Expert storyteller who can skillfully bring a message to life across all mediums
• Play a leadership role in the Topgolf Communications team focused on consumer-facing communications and ensuring a holistic approach to both internal and external communications.
• Create strategic approach for Topgolf cultural and influencer PR.
• Amplify Topgolf content and media activities through earned media coverage.
• Develop and own media, entertainment, sports partner relationships to further the Topgolf brand.
• Develop and activate an influencer model through appropriate relationships and tools.
• Manage existing influencer wrangler (contractor focused on building relationships with influencers).
• Determine optimal resources and agency support needed to execute with excellence.
• Manage the PR calendar and strategy for 32 Venues & counting
• Lead the strategy for the New Venue Opening PR
Key Qualifications:
To be successful you will need to have the following:
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Extensive experience pitching the media with proven results
• Tech savvy with a passion for emerging trends related to social media, videos and other forms of digital communication.
• Knowledge and familiarity with AP style
• Extensive experience in leading PR activities for lifestyle brands, ideally in the media and entertainment space.
• Deep understanding of the mechanics to connect with consumers through earned media.
• Proven ability to build the brand and drive the business through earned media (case studies).
• Strong relationships in the media/entertainment worlds focused in sports and popular culture.
• Obsessed with consumer perceptions and behavior, with knowledge how to integrate a brand message into their busy lives.
• Upbeat, enthusiastic energy and personality.
• Leadership qualities and ability to manage and develop direct reports, while managing up to C-Suite.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth organization with multiple stakeholders and constant ambiguity created through growth opportunities.
• Agency experience or corporate experience managing a PR agency
• Publicist experience a bonus
• Degree in PR or Communications
