Position Description:
Lead an account team to manage and grow key NBA China marketing partnerships to maximize marketing activation and generate incremental revenue. This includes providing strategic client consultation, overseeing fulfillment of contractual benefits, managing partner activations, and helping to generate upsell opportunities.
Major Responsibilities:
Independently manage day-to-day partner activation process, including campaign development, media facilitation, creative approvals, grass-roots program planning and event coordination
Develop strong, respectful relationships and build credibility with appropriate partner contacts
Oversee the fulfillment of partner contractual benefits, including event sponsorship, promotional obligations and media buys; develop and implement innovative and impactful marketing programs
Provide partnership expertise in the comprehension of contractual elements and understanding of partners' marketing/business goals objectives, target audience and competitors
Manage the identification, creation and presentation of upsell opportunities to further develop each partner's relationship with the NBA
Lead renewal discussions with partners nearing the end of their contract with the NBA, including development of strategic approach, pitch creation/presentation, negotiating terms, and contracting
Supervise team members and contribute toward their professional development
Maintain effective working relationships with key NBA constituencies, including Global Media Distribution, Global Merchandising Group, Content, Events, Public Relations, Finance, Legal and more
Required Experience & Knowledge:
Strong presentation skills, including the ability to lead discussions with senior level partner contacts
Strong business development skills including the ability to identify, present and close upsell and renewal opportunities for partners
Highest ethics and integrity
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Sound judgment and decision making
Ability to function well in a matrix organization
Must be highly motivated, proactive, self-starter with high energy and team spirit
Strong interpersonal skills
Fluency in English and Mandarin
International thinker and operator-appreciative of other cultures and business practices
Familiarity with NBA brand and assets; strong affinity for the NBA brand and the game of basketball
8+ years professional experience, preferably in an account management, consulting or sports marketing role
Educational Background Required:
Undergraduate degree from a top university with strong academic credentials
