The Director of Compliance is responsible for providing support to the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services for the UCR Department of Athletics Compliance Program. Responsibilities include supporting the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance services in the areas of rules education, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, personnel, recruiting, practice and playing seasons, and the self-reporting process. This individual must be able to communicate and function as part of the collaborative team within the Compliance Office. Apply online at http://jobs.ucr.edu. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Ability in problem identification and reasoning.
Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance operational issues and activities, specifically at the Division I level.
Interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree.
Proficiency with JumpForward or similar compliance software.
Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Minimum of three years of related experience.
Advanced computer skills including demonstrated proficiency using the NCAA Compliance Assistant software, NCAA Eligibility Center, RSRO, and LSDBi.
