University of Texas Athletics is seeking a dynamic, seasoned Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services to manage the academic support services for its 500 student athletes participating in 20 sports across the campus and has retained Witt/Kieffer to assist in identifying well-qualified candidates for this position.
The Senior Associate Athletics Director for Academic Services will dually report to the men’s and woman’s Athletics Directors. He or she will also be responsible for the oversight and management of all Texas Athletics Student Services and teams, and will provide leadership and operational management of all facets related to the academic success (eligibility, degree progression and graduation) of student-athletes while ensuring compliance with NCAA, Big 12 and University regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience as a student-athlete or working in Division I Athletic Academic Support Programs; experience working with Division I collegiate student-athletes; familiarity with NCAA Division I academic progress requirements and APR; knowledge of NCAA transfer regulations and other applicable NCAA regulations.
Required:
Master’s Degree and 8 years of related experience. 5 years of experience effectively supervising, directing and managing the work of full-time employee(s) and/or teams. Demonstrated strong communication, leadership and collaborative skills. Experience working in compliance and/or academics or related field. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
