The United States Military Academy is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Communications.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to, all aspects of assisting in the day-to-day operation of the Office of Athletic Communications. Primary responsibilities include all athletic communications duties to include designing and writing record books and game notes, writing weekly press releases and feature stories, compiling team statistics and records, reporting to the Patriot League, designing graphics for social media platforms, assisting with game day and press box operations, aiding with the daily maintenance of Army’s Web site, and assisting the office manager with various administrative duties. The successful candidate will serve as the primary media relations contact for several intercollegiate athletic programs to be determined, as well as game day support for football. The position will require regular office hours as well as night-time, weekend and holiday work schedules.
Bachelor's degree in a communications related field. Candidates should possess at least two years of full-time experience in a collegiate sports information office as well as a broad-based knowledge of Division I athletics and NCAA regulations. Strong organizational skills, solid writing ability, working knowledge of Microsoft Windows computers, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop as well as StatCrew statistical packages are required.
