The Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics Department (PERA) is seeking an individual with experience in working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, coaching, leadership or service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community.
Women’s Swimming Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in the coaching, organization, and administration of the program; including but not limited to practice and meet preparation, practice and meet coaching, and input on meet line-ups. There will be significant involvement with recruiting, organizing and running clinics and swim lessons, and video and meet analysis.
Aquatics Responsibilities:
Assist the aquatics director in the supervision and management of Chandler Pool including all internal and external aquatics events. Implement and assist in the development and review of risk management policies and procedures. Inspect aquatic facilities and equipment, reporting needs in a timely fashion. Participate in the Board of Health inspections. Manage all special events held in the aquatic facility including physical pool and deck set-ups, computer hardware and software, scoreboard, and auxiliary spaces.
This is a .75 FTE faculty position with benefits.
Start date is August 1, 2017.
A bachelor’s degree is required but a master’s degree is preferred.
1-2 years college, club, or masters coaching experience required. Lifeguard certification (including current CPR, AED, and First Aid) certification required upon hire. LGT Instructor/Trainer preferred. Knowledge of Hy-Tech Meet Manager, Colorado System 6, E-Dive, and Display Link preferred. Valid driver’s license and clearance to drive College vehicles required.
