Account Director, CPG Client (NFL & MLS Partnerships)
Description
THE JOB / Account Director
We are looking for an Account Director to oversee and lead in the strategic sponsorship planning for a CPG brand and their NFL & MLS partnerships. The Account Director will manage a 2 person team with the primary responsibility being overall management of integrated partnership activity, including an annual calendar of consumer activations, signature NFL events, retail promotions, media programs, team deals, national spokesmen, and athlete integration.
The right candidate will be able to lead season-long planning, large-scale event planning, and day-to-day internal account management. Adaptability, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills are required.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
• Immersion in client’s brand, business, and marketing approach to provide strategic direction, insight, and vision for client’s sponsorship initiatives and team deal activations
• Assist in the client’s NFL Renewal by developing business cases and supporting sponsorship materials
• Oversee development and execution of marketing programs surrounding three individual brands, shopper team, and multiple team sponsorships
◦ Lead team in managing contracts and assets included, creating activation plans, tracking documents, budgets, reporting/analysis and recap reports
◦ Negotiate Team Deals and contractual assets as requested and developed
• Develop relationships and act as a day-to-day contact for internal and external partners, including clients, NFL, MLS Teams, and agency partners
◦ Liaison with internal Octagon Account Teams to ensure seamless client communication and tracking of all programs in development and execution
• Ability/desire to identify and foster new opportunities for client business and support to provide Octagon solutions
• Lead, motivate, mentor and inspire Octagon Account team to personal and professional success
• Other related duties/projects as developed including assisting in the development of all client deliverables

Qualifications
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• You have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, music and/or celebrity & lifestyle culture
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
5ish+ years of relevant sponsorship and/or agency experience
• NFL or MLS knowledge is strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Proven ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and requests, while solving problems independently
• Capacity to become knowledgeable on the clients’ industry, brand and product offering
• An effective mentor, coach and team leader with previous management experience
• Extremely organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel and work weekends and multi-day events
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
