The position is posted on the Florida Atlantic University human resources website as a compliance coordinator position due to university policy, but the internal title will be Director of compliance.
This individual will assist the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance to develop, monitor and oversee all aspects of NCAA compliance for 19 NCAA Division I athletics programs. Responsible for acquiring, maintaining a detailed knowledge of NCAA, Conference and University Policies & Procedures, as well as implementing all policies and procedures of the department, University, Conference and NCAA.
Essential tasks include, but not limited to:
• Assist with the university’s continued commitment to a quality NCAA Division I compliance program that is educational, cooperative and professional in nature;
• Assist to investigate infractions of NCAA rules;
• Research and interpret rules for coaches, student-athletes, administrators, university staff, and other representative of athletic interest.
• Continue development of a comprehensive rules education program for student-athletes, coaches, and staff;
• Administer the Coaches’ Recruiting exam;
• Oversee the daily monitoring of compliance procedure as required by the NCAA in areas including awards and benefits, all aspects of recruiting, camps and clinics, and playing and practice.
• Attend NCAA regional rules seminars, as well as, additional education to remain current with NCAA legislation changes.
• Perform related projects as assigned. In addition, this position is responsible for assisting in the education and professional development of additional compliance staff members (i.e., intern and/or graduate assistant). Candidate will be required to work all home football contests, as well as select men’s and women’s basketball contests.

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 2 years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization and 4 years of appropriate experience. Knowledge in using JumpFoward is preferred.
