Job Description
The Group Vice President of Ancillary Business will be responsible for the P&L, operations and strategy for Equinox’s personal training business, spa, retail boutiques, food & beverage, Kids Club and Pilate’s studios globally. This will be a highly talented, motivational, engaging, hands-on business leader who has operations and strategic planning experience while possessing strong business, innovation & financial acumen. The Group Vice President will report into the Chief Operating Officer and must have a comprehensive understanding of the fitness business and work well in a dynamic, high growth environment. Travel is required as he/she will spend approximately 30% of their time in our clubs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop a compelling strategy and plan to drive growth, innovation, revenue per member and overall profit in each of our Ancillary six businesses
• Partner with revenue management to develop new programs and pricing strategies to introduce innovative programming and packages in personal training, spa, retail boutiques, food & beverage and pilates to further our leadership position in these business lines
• Develop strategy within each of the ancillary businesses addressing sales, experience, merchandising, vendor relationships/exclusivity, product offerings and overall performance
• Develop operating protocols and promotion/retention programs to bring process and discipline to a highly entrepreneurial environment
• Develop annual budgets, goals and projections to creatively employ marketing techniques for customer acquisition and to tap our member base and tailor to special markets and demographics to drive leads to the personal training, spa, retail boutiques, food & beverage and pilates businesses
• Manage a senior team of industry leading professionals
• Cross promote businesses to leverage synergies and profit potential
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing or consulting in a related multi-unit, full-service business
• Successful track record leading and driving sales in a full service business
• Consulting or strategy experience in a related industry
• Managing a national or international P&L in a related industry
• Experience creating and implementing innovative and strategic initiatives within a luxury company
• Managing a diverse and senior team
• Passionate and knowledgeable regarding the fitness industry
• Bachelor’s Degree and MBA required
• Excellent communication skills
• High standards of quality
• Intrinsic understanding of luxury brands
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
