The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG) is a world leader in live sports and entertainment with a portfolio of legendary sports teams, exclusive entertainment productions and celebrated venues. Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibility:
The Director Sports Sales & Entertainment for Madison Square Garden will maximize renewal and new business revenue streams and meet / exceed individual property goals, departmental global goal, and cross-divisional goal.
In addition, work with the VP Sports Sales & Entertainment, MSG Sports and Entertainment departments, MSG’s agency partners and all necessary organizational departments to service, activate and over-deliver on all strategic partner objectives for sports, including action sports, and entertainment events.

Key Non-Reporting Relationships:
Key contact Description/Purpose
1. VPs / Partnership Strategy & Service
Daily – at minimum – contact to ensure that all program elements, reporting mechanisms, and related client service issues are handled flawlessly.
2. MSG Sports Legal and Finance (VP and below)
Facilitate pro-active and ongoing communication as it relates to a transparent reporting process.
3. Marketing, Operations and Community Relations Contacts – All Team / Sports Properties (VP and
below)
Facilitate pro-active and ongoing communication as it relates to revenue expectation, program development, sell-through and implementation.
4. VP / Sales and-or Directors of Sales and Marketing with CAA, ASA Entertainment, as well as MSG Media and Entertainment divisions
Facilitate pro-active and ongoing communication as it relates to revenue expectation, targeting advertisers, program development, sell through and implementation.
5. VP Business Solutions
Facilitate pro-active and ongoing communication as it relates to platform development, sell-through and implementation.
OPERATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THIS POSITION
1. Maintain their own active, qualified outbound sales process.
2. Personally serve as the driver of all major “house” account management strategies as assigned.
3. Drive a quantitative, qualitative and transparent sales process.
4. Review and approve all proposals and decks prior to external delivery.
5. Focus efforts on inventory and strategies designed to maximize revenue streams for individual properties and the organization globally.
6. Manage day-to-day expense budget.
7. Partner with Partnership Strategy group to create “best in class” partner management system.

• 7-10 years experience in strategic marketing / sponsorship execution for both sports and entertainment properties.
• Ability to present proposals to potential and existing clients
Education requirements:
Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
