The Golf Club at Lansdowne in Lansdowne, VA is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Lead Instructor. Qualified candidates will thrive in a hospitality environment and be highly focused on providing superior service to the clubs managed by Troon.
Key Responsibilities
•Oversees all facets of golf instruction that takes place on property, including daily clinics, private instruction, teacher of the day program, junior golf programs, associate golf programs and any associated golf school programs and/or club fitting promotions.
•Teaches private and group golf lessons, including clinics.
•Organizes and coordinates the facility’s instructional program, including designing and administering lesson plans.
•Develops a teaching philosophy that remains consistent throughout the season. Trains associates and ensures that this philosophy is maintained by the teaching staff.
•Develops customized golf schools for area and regional golfers.
•Educates teaching staff throughout the golf season with monthly clinics and/or roundtable sessions.
•Ensures that all golf professionals at facility are certified, qualified, and provide high quality instruction.
•Offers training and mentoring to golf professionals seeking advancement with in Troon.
•Ensures proper management of inventory of all teaching aids on property.
•Ensures proper functioning and availability of all video equipment used by the golf professionals for teaching.
•Oversees the process of charting and logging the number of golf lessons given on property daily. Keeps accurate records of which golf professional performed lesson. Submits records to Payroll or Accounting to ensure proper and timely instruction compensation if applicable.
•Maintains general upkeep of the driving range, lessons tee and storage shed.
•Implements policies and procedures for the Golf Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services
•Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
•May manage Teaching Professionals and other golf staff.
•Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
•Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
•Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
•Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
•Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
