General Responsibilities
Director of Product Development
• The primary mission of the Director of Product Development is to lead and deliver innovation that will meet shifting transportation needs. The director will oversee creating new business models and product innovations and is expected to deliver a revenue pipeline worth $1Billion over the next 3 years.
General Responsibilities
• Define, in partnership with the Sponsor, the overall methodology and governance for the Program, divided into the following basic steps: discovery, idea generation and prioritization, validation through fast experimentation, iteration, improvement and launch at scale of the most promising idea.
• Research customer needs and pain-points leveraging existing research and custom-designed reports.
• Design, organize and lead brainstorming and ideation sessions and extract actionable conclusions from them.
• Capture brainstorming and ideation sessions results in a set of concepts or ideas. Define prioritization criteria and apply to select top ideas.
• Develop Minimum Viable Products (MPVs) for the subset of selected ideas. Design fast tests and experiments to validate the attractiveness of each MPV. Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from experiments to learn and iterate/refine each idea or pivot.
• Facilitate the leadership discussion for the selection of the strongest idea. Outline and implement modifications to optimize and refine it.
• Build a business case and launch plan for the selected idea. Facilitate the discussion and decision-making process at the appropriate leadership level.
• Execute the implementation of the launch plan, coordinating the appointed cross-functional execution team.
• Identify, recruit, train, coach and manage organic teams. Build trust relationships and manage by influence virtual cross-functional teams (Legal, Operations, IT, Customer Care, Finance, etc.).
• Create insightful data-driven reports and presentations to support business decision making and communication to top leadership.
• Identify, screen, build and manage relationship with potential external partners.
• Continuously maintain or lead the maintenance of business intelligence around relevant new innovative developments in our space (new technologies, business models, competitors moves, etc.).
• Support other brand strategy, integration and planning efforts as needed.

• Able to simultaneously have a strategic big picture approach and execute with a high level of quality and detail.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• High levels of flexibility, competency playing different roles simultaneously within the team and ability to operate in a fluid working environment with a high level of ambiguity.
• Ability to create, manage and grow strategic relationships with external and internal partners.
• Ability to manage, coach and train talent.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. Ability to manage by influence.
Educational Background:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, Marketing Research or another related field required.
• MBA preferred.
Professional Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in strategy, consulting, business transformation and key projects leadership.
• 2+ years driving innovation efforts within a global organization.
Knowledge:
• Relevant travel industry and/or rental car industry qualifications a plus.
