Requirements
Job Title: UX Director
As the UX Director it will be your responsibility to lead the experience for how customers search, discover and buy items they want on Guitar Center websites, stores and call center. You'll be an ambassador for our users. You'll define the details of our product design, from early conception of new features to final execution. Working closely with our talented engineering, analytics, and product management teams, you'll bring exceptional focus to the quality of our customer experiences while increasing the profitability of our business model.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
• Partner with stakeholders and executive leaders to understand business needs and create a vision and strategy to address those needs in alignment with our financial goals
• Work with product managers across the businesses to understand market needs & vision, and work with teams to quickly translate that vision into designs for software
• Coach, mentor, lead, and provide career guidance and development for a large group of digital technology professionals
• Oversee effective documentation and communication of design - via wireframes, mockups, requirements engineering and UI components
• Leverage user testing, research, interviews, and analytical data to get essential feedback to improve future versions of our shopping experience.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Agile / Lean UX methodologies
• Evangelize the UX practice internally and externally
• Improve and standardize design components across the digital experience.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Human- Computer Interaction, or related field.
• 10 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience)
• 6 years of experience leading teams
