General Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The Sr. Director – Global FP&A acts as a liaison with all operating Divisions, Corporate areas and Shared Services to ensure activities are consistent with approved Senior Management Corporate objectives across global strategy, M&A and balance sheet/working capital optimization.
The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the incumbent are as follows:
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly actuals and forecast - Consolidation of business unit financial data. Generation of consolidated balance sheet and cash flow. Presentation of data for Monthly/Quarterly Operating Review and Board of Directors Meeting.
• Develop, monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPI) throughout the organization to promote best practices and efficiency through all aspects of Hertz corporate and operational activities.
• Competitive analysis and benchmarking to include structuring and reporting of comparative financial and key statistical data.
• Provide support for Investor Relations when addressing analyst questions/issues.
• Acquisition, Disposition and Goodwill review and analysis work.
• Development of business unit Long Range Plan (5 years forward), including organization, consolidation, preparing consolidated balance sheet and cash flow and presentation.
• Manage all global Capital Expenditures to drive ROI and operations excellence
• Partner closely with Global Finance Leaders to optimize working capital and provide cash forecast globally
• Partner with key stakeholders to determine and operational strategic plan for growth on revenue, earnings and margin expansions.
Key-Result Areas:
• Establish Corporate growth initiatives that drive performance by establishing monthly current estimates, annual business plans and multi-year strategic plans that exceed Senior Management and shareholder expectations.
• Improve performance by establishing and monitoring metrics and milestones that link key strategic initiatives to execution and results.
• Focus on continuous improvement efforts by establishing best practices among Divisions/Regions to improve financial and operating results
• Ensure efficient utilization of all assets.
• Ensure timely & accurate reporting of Corporate operational results for monthly accounting closes, quarterly earnings releases and Senior Management presentations/meeting (MOR, Board of Directors, Credit Agencies, Operational Reviews, etc.)
• Provide operational guidance, input and final review of the monthly forecast and annual business plan as developed by the COE.
Mandatory Requirements
Educational Background:
University degree in finance, accounting and/or economics
MBA, CPA is desirable
Professional Experience:
• Proven track record (15 - 20 years) in an organization involved in transportation services and business development at all levels. Extensive experience in all aspects of financial management including financial planning, corporate finance, accounting, tax and acquisitions/divestitures.
• Financial leadership role in a public company of major international U.S. public company.
Knowledge:
• Understanding of the car and equipment rental market segments in the industry and its drivers
• Excellent grasp of competition
• Strong ability and desire to translate Corporate vision into results
• Financial and business acumen
Skills:
• Operates effectively within a complex and dynamic organization
• Identify opportunities and react accordingly
• Ability to create synergies between operating Divisions
• Comprehends the expectations of key stakeholders
