Tax Manager
The Income Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the corporate tax function, including the training and development of our team of tax accountants. You will be responsible for ASC 740 reporting, US federal income tax returns, estimated payments, and leading tax planning initiatives. You will research and communicate tax issues, manage special projects, and work with various internal departments, auditors and outside tax providers. Other critical responsibilities include process improvement and leveraging technology. A successful individual in this role must be able to communicate the technical tax issues surrounding various types of taxes to a wide variety of audiences.

Tax Manager
The Income Tax Manager will be responsible for managing the corporate tax function, including the training and development of our team of tax accountants. You will be responsible for ASC 740 reporting, US federal income tax returns, estimated payments, and leading tax planning initiatives. You will research and communicate tax issues, manage special projects, and work with various internal departments, auditors and outside tax providers. Other critical responsibilities include process improvement and leveraging technology. A successful individual in this role must be able to communicate the technical tax issues surrounding various types of taxes to a wide variety of audiences.
The Tax Manager reports to the Director of Tax.
Position Overview
Area of Responsibility
• Interim and year-end ASC 740 income tax provision
• Ensure income tax provision is timely and accurately recorded
• Manage external auditors through income tax provision each quarter
• Federal income tax return
• Calculation of book tax differences
• Computation of federal and multi-state estimated tax payments to maximize cash flow and avoid penalties
• Ensures information is provided timely to outside tax provider
• Investigates alternate fee arrangement solutions with vendors; assists in managing relationship
• Acts as main point of contact with outside tax provider for compliance issues
• Assist with state income tax as needed
• Lead various tax planning and special projects
• Research complex tax issues, analyze various laws and interpret how they apply to the company, reviews technical documentation prepared by others
• Recommend and help implement enhancements to processes and procedures related to evolution of the company, changes in the business environment, and tax law changes
• Proactively identify tax savings strategies
• Support tax director and state and local tax team in tax strategy initiatives
• Manage the development of the tax team
• Manage staff to ensure work is completed accurately and timely
• Manage the hiring process for income tax staff and senior staff
• Ensure all financial and operational controls are performed effectively
• Lead implementation of enhancements to processes and procedures related to evolution of the company, changes in the business environment, and tax law changes
• Other projects as required
Additional Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are needed to be successful in this position:

• BS or BA in accounting or related field
• CPA required
• Minimum of five years of income tax experience
• Management experience required

Lithia Hiring Requirements
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 18 years or older
• Possess an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license in state of residence
• A criminal history background check will be conducted prior to beginning employment
• Clear pre-employment drug screen
