Position Summary
Responsible for installation, configuration and deployment of IBM WebSphere, JBoss, Apache, and Tomcat application servers. Implement, administer and support deployed PeopleSafe and Mailorder and other major large complex J2EE applications to integrate with Enterprise common services. Build and support common component classes shared by many complex applications in the enterprise. Leverage Middleware technologies to provide robust, cutting-edge integration solutions to fully and successfully achieve new goals and meet new challenges rapidly and cost-effectively. Automate daily administrative tasks, configure and implement SSL and remediate Security Vulnerabilities as per corporate security guidelines and address audit findings. Participate, partner and collaborate with SME’s, database administrators, Network, UNIX administrators, software developers, internal and external vendors to understand their requirements and provide a viable solution using middleware standards. Train members of the technical staff and interface with user groups to resolve project and production issues. Assist the application support staff as the primary Middleware Technical support contact for several technical projects during the development, integration, test and production environments. Troubleshoot and provide proactive support for more than 600+ production and non-production JVM’s running on various Middleware Application servers, ensuring full compliance of the Service Level Agreements (SLA). Research and analyze systems, design, implement and conduct thorough Performance Test (PT) reviews in accordance with Application Middleware Infrastructure to accommodate new systems to the shared infrastructure and provide system capacity and enhancements. Provide guidance at disaster recovery exercises. Break fix on application jobs and claim, complete request tickets each month. Participate in 7x24 rotating on-call pager support.
Up to 5% domestic travel required.
Required Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Middleware administration,
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years of experience with Middleware technologies; Apache; OHS; JBoss; WebLogic; Tomcat application server; and Unix scripting required.
6+ years of experience with WebSphere application server.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or closely related technical field required.
Master's degree preferred.
