The People & Org (HR) Business Partner will define the People strategy for his/her function, business unit, region, or market. This individual will provide strategic consulting on People strategy and initiatives to senior business leaders and their leadership teams, serving as a trusted advisor and business partner on all business and People strategies. This role will ensure the successful delivery of the defined People Strategy. This role partners with the leaders they support to translate the overarching People strategy for the function/business unit/market/region deeper in the organization and is responsible for the results of its execution.
This role leads complex change and transformational programs for their areas of support. Accountable for the organizational health of their client’s function/business unit/market/region. This role collaborates with other areas of People, Communications and Community on the development of all People initiatives globally, working to ensure that all people practices are aligned to global frameworks, while executed to meet the needs of the global function/business unit/market/region.
This leadership role will have a team that acts as the local point of contact for the People (HR) function, interfacing between the business and relevant People, Communication and Community Center of Excellence's to ensure the smooth running and delivery of day to day People activities. This role has direct people and financial management/leadership. This opening will help support network wide operations with multiple locations and global markets. This role is based in our corporate headquarters in West Chester, PA
Job Description Details
People Strategy & Business Partnership Consulting (VP and Above)
• In partnership with the People Lead, architect the People strategy for the function, business unit, region or market.
• Provides advice, counsel, and strategic insights on business strategies, while ensuring all business initiatives include a culture, talent, and people perspective throughout. Advises business leaders on the short, mid, and long term business strategies to maximize growth potential while maintaining a healthy culture throughout the global function/business unit/market/region.
• Influences and challenges leader perspectives and decisions on business and people matters.
• Provides leadership and drives solutions with the business on all aspects of people‐related initiatives including strategy, growth, succession planning, performance management, leadership development, total rewards planning, and organizational effectiveness, that is in alignment with the Enterprise People Strategy and function/business unit/market/region People strategy.
Business Relationship Management
• In collaboration with COEs and People Lead, represent a holistic and integrated People function to the business.
• Oversee and guide the provisions of People initiatives to the business, escalating and delegating to relevant COE teams as necessary.
• Oversee the understanding and articulation of local business area perspectives, to then provide relevant insights and perspectives to People Lead or COE’s, to ensure local matters are appropriately addressed and considered in strategy and priority formulation.
• Provide coaching and guidance to leaders at all levels, and to support in the effective prioritization and delivery of an engaging team member experience.
• Lead and direct a team of People and org delivery partners, ensure initial diagnostic level advice and guidance to business leaders, engaging People, Communications and Community COE teams as necessary.
• Utilize relevant information / COE metrics / indicators, to gain insight on people issues, in order to provide leadership teams with the appropriate clarity for people related initiatives and priorities.
• Where applicable, lead and drive content and agenda’s for local market/region/site team forums/team member representation bodies, providing timely response to People related queries and engaging with COEs as necessary.
People Solutions and Service Delivery
• Prioritizes solutions that will deliver the most benefit to the business. Identifies risks to the delivery of business strategy and partners with Solutions Delivery and/or COE leads and People and Org delivery resources to bring the right resources to support it.
• Leads functional/Business Unit/Market/region project management of People initiatives as required.
• Oversees the delivery of People solutions, partnering with the COEs as necessary and directing the People and Org delivery resources on the localization and execution of key deliverables.
• Consulting on the delivery of talent mgmt. processes including performance mgmt., talent review and succession, compensation
• Identifies advanced development needs from business unit or function and partners with appropriate COE team members to best support
• Supports engagement and cultural health of organization based on team member experience company strategy
• Understands changes in business unit and consults on tools required to advance the organization development of the business/team (career frameworks, org design needs, change mgmt. needs, etc). Identifies needs and supports delivery with business.
• Participates in appropriate Communities of Practice in support of overall business
People and Budget Management
• Directly or indirectly, provides leadership, direction and ongoing development to the team of People & Org managers and/or partners.
• Responsible for performance management.
• Effectively manages the People & Org Business Partner budgets. Provides input for determination of People COE budgets from a function/market/business unit/region perspective.
Qualifications:
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of total business experience, ideally in areas of Human Resources and Organization Effectiveness or other related experience is required.
• Full life cycle experience managing a range of HR professionals, and the business/HR relationship and partnerships
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced training/degree in a related field desired.
• Network experience, leading HR strategy across multiple sites, locations, global, etc. Preferred experience working with a distribution / fulfillment / customer care client group.
• Ability to travel up to 35%
• Working knowledge of all key People skill areas and using People levers to drive business performance
• Change management delivery
