Position Summary
As the Senior Director of Outbound Transportation, you will be responsible for outbound transportation of all of our 19 retail Distribution Centers, managing a $180M budget.(outbound transportation spend) working with our private fleets, and dedicated third party delivery providers. You will be responsible for setting and achieving the budget and forecast goals by driving transportation distribution excellence & best practices. In addition, you will be responsible for the creation and execution of strategies to improve processes and reduce freight costs across the distribution center network. This leader also supports and collaborates with all areas of Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, Stores, IT, Finance, Audit, Strategic Procurement and Accounts Payable. The incumbent will be required to perform all tasks in a manner consistent with corporate policies, and state and federal laws & regulations.
Ideally candidate will be working at the company headquarters in Woonsocket, RI, HOWEVER, MAY CONSIDER ONE OF OUR 19 DISTRIBUTION CENTER LOCATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.
Must be able to travel 20-25%.
Required Qualifications
•8+ years experience with multi-site transportation and supply chain activities within a large retail or manufacturing organization with the ability to influence and interact with both internal business partners and external business contacts in a collaborative manner.
• 8+ years experience in a management/leadership role with experience managing budgets, schedules, projects and leading/managing a multi-million dollar P&L.
• 8+ years experience in managing dedicated and private fleet transportation with strategic thinking, problem solving, innovative thinking, planning, analytics negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel 20-25% of the time.

• Team building proficiency, demonstrating an ability to organize defined work streams, load balance across resources, develop team members and inspire high performance. Prior successes leading, developing and engaging a large team
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact.
• Excellent communicator, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and think on his/her feet. Keen ability to distill complex ideas into simpler frameworks and illustrations
• Deep understanding of our business, industry, and the inter-relationships between stakeholders.
