Position Description
Background
With the backing of parent company Walmart, Vudu plans to grow its streaming service significantly. Customer acquisition will be the engine of this growth and the Associate Director of Acquisition will take an exciting lead. Vudu is looking for a star with a proven record of high growth customer acquisition at a consumer streaming service.
Scope of the role
This role has end-to-end responsibility when it comes to acquiring customers: from strategic planning to overseeing the tactical execution week in and week out.
This role defines the strategies for scaling new user acquisition across digital and offline channels, develops scenarios or the best mix of upper-funnel and lower-funnel spending to achieve optimal results; quarterly budgets are in the eight figures.
This role will be responsible for the media plan and manage an internal team of digital marketers as well as agencies to refine the plan and buy the media. With the team, this role will refine audience targeting and turn conversion optimization into a systematic program. The person will also direct the team to uncover new channels and will work closely with an internal analytics team to measure performance, uncover insights, and identify new opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have strong communication and presentation skills to be effective in sharing plans and results across a large the organization to drive buy in and alignment. Key skills to doing this well are clear strategic thinking, data-driven planning, and strong points of view. Must be a strong storyteller, able to synthesize data to generate insights and a logical narrative.
Must also have experience with several acquisition channels with budgets spread across brand advertising as well as direct response campaigns. Specifically, eight or more years of customer acquisition experience is desired. Three or more years of previous experience managing a team is also desired.
Must have experience with programmatic buying and be highly analytical. Preferred candidate has had hands-on experience in media buying, enabling clear points of view, leading to bulletproof assessments of agency recommendations.
Prefer experience acquiring customers not just through web channels and mobile app, but also through living room devices.
Prefer hands on experience with such attribution systems as media mix modeling and multi-touch attribution.
