GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director, Store Systems will lead the Store Systems team for IT, including management of the Stores applications portfolio (LP, Inventory Management, WiFi, LMS etc), implementation of projects, support and liaison with business customers and internal cross functional IT teams. The position will also be responsible for leading many critical Labor Efficiency projects that will deliver 5YP Benefits as identified now and look for additional opportunities to improve store efficiency, reduce shrink and better communicate to the decentralized store associates population. He/She will be responsible for the creation of stores multiyear roadmap in liaison with Business and IT partners and creation/execution of the 5YP Budget. He/she will lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of solutions to meet business needs in the 5 Year plan. This is a highly visible role with IT executives and directly interfaces with the senior corporate and field business leaders. He/she will need deep expertise around industry best practices in the various aspects of IT/Security, trends, retail knowledge and ability to implement solutions to enable key business strategies. Proven track record and ability to balance desired capabilities end-state within program/environment constraints and with a pragmatic lens.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead, develop and mentor the Store systems team
• Influence and set strategic direction for Stores front end technologies and roadmap
• Consult with senior business leadership to align demand with broader strategic IT initiatives
• Continuously grow and improve the capabilities within the space
• Project Delivery: Ensure
◦ Detailed project plans are created, covering the entire systems development life cycle, and associated project budgets
◦ Requirements are defined accurately
◦ Systems are designed/coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements, and that execute efficiently
◦ Test plans and training plans are designed and executed successfully
◦ Determine a deployment and change management plan in partnership with the Business team
◦ Projects are completed on time and under budget and that anticipated business benefits are achieved.
• Must be able to quickly establish credibility at all levels of the organization including senior-level business executives
• Manage budget, resources and schedules across multiple projects, internal and system integrator staff. Coordinate with other programs and IT’s horizontal services
• Identify, manage and communicate issues, risks and dependencies to project stakeholders and sponsors
• Help maintain and evolve the IT applications roadmap and drive strategic recommendations

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 10-12 years’ experience managing and supporting IT systems, processes or capabilities within a Fortune 500 or similar IT environment
• At least 5 years implementing large scale stores projects including but not limited to areas such as POS, Returns, Payment Applications, Inventory Systems, Store Infrastructure Management etc in a program management capacity
• Experience managing teams over 20 FTEs, including subcontractors and offshore resources
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle critical situation, negotiating solutions and resolving conflicts with customers, IT partners and vendors
• Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis, such as estimating, managing cash flow and ROI
• Ability to manage program budgets of $20M+
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones
• Demonstrated experience in setting and influencing strategic retail business solutions
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to work effectively with VP and above executives
• Leadership skills; able to influence others to the desired outcome, supervise and inspire team members
• Some travel may be required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Working knowledge of stores applications such as POS, Returns, Payment Applications, Inventory Applications etc
• Big4 Consulting experience
• Graduate degree
• Experience with a major retailer
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
