Job Summary and Mission
This role contributes to Starbucks success by leading the development of key initiatives, programs, and activities related to federal, state, local and international government relations as needed.
The candidate must have significant public policy and federal government relations experience as well as political acumen. This role will help to set the strategic direction for Company's government relations agenda and oversee the advancement of related public policy objectives that are developed through the lens of our partners (employees) and the communities we serve.
This individual will work extensively and cross functionally across the business to determine Company’s public policy priorities. The candidate must be able to build and maintain significant external relationships, with particular focus on government and key policy influencers. The ideal candidate has experience working with trade associations and consultants on campaigns to advance public policy issues. This candidate must be mission driven, team oriented and have a great sense of humor. At least 10 years of professional experience, JD preferred.
