Position Summary
Project Manager is responsible for planning, estimating, forecasting, providing both project oversight and day-to-day management, leadership, direction, and administration across the full project lifecycle (planning through implementation) on small to medium size complex projects. This person will work with Technology and Business teams as well as the relevant Functional Managers to ensure each project adheres to the project CVS Enterprise Methodology, project scope, and to CVS project standards. This person must provide solutions that meet the business objectives and are within time/cost constraints, while maintaining high business and CVS levels of satisfaction.
Escalates Mission Critical Risks and Critical Issues and manage them by providing updates through Executive Status Report (ESR) or daily status. Maintains accurate weekly project-level forecast. Calculates and records actual burn and performs planned vs. actual variance analysis. Delivers projects within variance levels committed to by IT. Monitors and manages project budget. Audits project hours and ensures 100% Timesheet Compliance by Project Team. Delivers projects on-time: includes all phase or iteration commit dates. Obtain commitments to dates and deliverables from project resources to meet overall project commitments. Uses the latest Master Project Plan (MPP) as a starting point and tailors it to the project at hand. Monitors and tracks critical path items/dependencies well in advance of their due dates. Maintains the Project Plan. Monitors QA progress against plan and helps manage defect priorities during the QA execution cycle.
Uses the estimated effort (Best Engineering Guess) produced by the Estimations Process to create initial project staffing plan and obtains proper approvals. Requires updated and approved project staffing plan and properly leveled resources. Issues staffing plans. Notifies of foreseeable project delays that will impact current staffing. Updates ESR real-time with reportable risk/issue and/or status change. Provides weekly review to ensure accuracy prior to portfolio review with the Business. Reviews and understands high-level business requirements artifacts and work with the project stakeholder. Ensures approvals from all business and IT stakeholders are secured. Conducts Post-Project Review (PPR) meetings and produces reports that include actionable Lessons Learned that are beneficial to downstream projects. Complies with standard closeout process - includes auditing all timesheets, Knowledge Transfer to Operations, and final documents posted to SharePoint project.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience managing multiple IT projects and budgets.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience in the IT, Retail and/ or Pharmacy Benefit Management fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Agile development projects
- PMP preferred
- SCM a plus
Education
Verifiable Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or closely related technical field strongly preferred.
