Description
The Director, eCommerce Merchandising will develop and execute business plans to drive eCommerce growth. The director will partner cross-functionally to deliver a world-class shopping experience on biglots.com. This person is
responsible for developing online category strategy, assortment management and visual merchandising, while ensuring the proper inventory, promotional and marketing support.
1. Lead merchandising, including development of merchandising strategy, processes and initial build.
2. Responsible for attaining online sales & margin goals.
3. Develop a strategic assortment plan working collaboratively with buying and planning teams.
4. Identify category, vendor and drop-ship opportunities for online expansion.
5. Develop and maintain online assortment guidelines that align with the merchandising strategy.
6. Monitor business performance, and communicate assortment, promotional and allocation needs.
7. Drive results by improving taxonomy, navigation, site search and product details.
8. Responsible for visual merchandising of all vertical, category, sub-category pages.
9. Partner cross-functionally to optimize marketing campaigns, fulfillment and operations teams to execute flawlessly.
10. Responsible for development and management of ecommerce Merchandising, Site content and Site marketing teams.
Qualifications
1. Bachelors' degree or higher in Business Administration or related field.
2. 7+ years online merchandising and/or eCommerce experience within a multichannel environment.
3. Ability to think strategically and add value to the business.
4. Highly motivated with the ability to function independently and solve problems.
5. Strong oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with business partners and other team members.
7. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, mentor and develop team members.
8. Knowledge of Oracle Commerce (ATG & Endeca) a plus.
