Position Summary
The Advisor, Product Development is a key role within the Omnicare Strategy team. The Advisor will be responsible for supporting a team of lead product developers with a variety of analytical, process, and/or direct product support responsibilities. This role will have direct responsibilities in supporting Product Development team objectives, while being trained and developed into a product development leader. Key responsibilities include: market assessment, idea generation, business case development, pilot management, analytics/reporting, and commercialization support. This role is likely to manage the development of 1-3 solutions. This role will leverage cross-functional partnerships across CVS Health’s business units to ensure high-impact solutions are brought to market quickly and with meaningful impact. The candidate will work very closely with Clinical, Sales and Account Management teams, as well as cross-functional enterprise partners to ensure quality and prioritization of pursued opportunities.
Job Description:
• Scope of role will focus on providing support to the Product Development team (analytics, process management, direct product development responsibilities)
• Develop robust business cases for use in solution prioritization and resource allocation
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects to successful completion, and to use effective judgment in prioritization and time allocation
• Develop and deliver regular presentations to senior executives within both CVS Health; effectively establishing logical frameworks, communicating key findings, and summarizing insights and implications
• Candidate must have experience bringing ambiguous concepts through from ideation into pilot and commercialization
• Strong working knowledge of Omnicare customer types and market segments
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional teams
• Travel is expected, but not consistent (estimated less than 10%)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, other quantitative disciplines, or clinical pharmacist background
- A minimum of 3 years of experience and knowledge of the Health Care Industry, with specific background in institutional pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or pharmacy benefits
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy Degree or advanced degree
- Pharmacist background
- Consulting experience
- Results-oriented, and able to influence others to meet goals in positive manner
- High-level of skill and experience required in process definition, often in ambiguous situations.
- Possesses the ability to break down complex problems into discrete questions and then guide cross-functional partners to develop strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks to drive design choices
- Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly with a diverse range of constituents, both verbally and on paper, and at all levels of the organization (in particular, PowerPoint presentations)
- Senior-level executive exposure within Omnicare is expected, and commensurate executive presence is therefore sought
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to analyze and solve practical problems
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Advanced skills with spreadsheets and presentation software, including a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, other quantitative disciplines, or clinical pharmacist background
• Pharmacy Degree or Advanced Degree preferred
