POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Financial Systems will leverage global processes / financial systems and expertise to attain optimal business processes and finance technology solutions. Responsible for preparing / leading a team through all phases of significant system evaluations, system and process implementations and the associated change management and communication. Provides periodic special analysis and status communications for management. Responsible for the technology supporting overall planning processes, budget and forecasts, as well as optimizing financial analytics through technology. Trouble shoots issues and solves problems complex in nature, across all divisions and financial areas, as well as providing functional connectivity and training. Directs / coaches financial analysts and managers and leads cross-functional / divisional projects. The Director, Financial Systems implements and supports the strategic plan for the unit/region/functional area. Provides leadership and expertise regarding utilization of financial systems, process optimization and internal controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead large projects focused on business planning and reporting system implementations, process / system optimization or data integrity. Test new functionality, set-ups and process solutions. Requires extensive coordination and management of financial information, resources and processes resulting in an optimized process and system application to deliver and present consolidated, globally as applicable, financial information to senior management. Plan and execute projects addressing scope, budget, risk and stakeholders and monitor against the plan providing periodic updates to stakeholders on statuses
• Independently, lead a team to identify financial systems problems, needs and/or issues, probe for root causes, and evaluate alternative business solutions and approaches, understanding the implications of different technical and process choices as well as the leveraging best practices. Proven expertise to implement corrective actions, integrate business requirements into solutions as well as to effectively communicate the situation, actions & solutions to senior local, regional management and corporate management.
• Oversee the operation/administration, maintenance and procedures around the applicable financial systems (tm1, sap, business warehouse [bw], enterprise data warehouse [edw], etc.) Working with mcc it and functional partners to meet business requirements. This includes daily/weekly/monthly processing, maintenance, security, data integrity and continuous streamlining of process and system operations as well as enhancement evaluations.
• Development of staff and a successful team through developing goals & objectives, aligning individual and organizational development (balanced with business) needs, deploying resources effectively, identifies and plans development opportunities, executes talent review process, identify future talent and capability needs and prioritizes talent for leadership programs.
• Drive the strategic direction for the financial system's structure and design. Recommend solutions and develop business system scenarios that anticipate the future direction of the business, its drivers and technology strategy, and support requirements. Proactively facilitate complex design and technical discussions, reconciling differing opinions and drive the decision-making process.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Accounting, Business or other relevant discipline
• 10 years of relevant experience - Financial analysis
• 5 years of experience on financial systems projects
• 5 years of supervisory experience
• Project Management & Change Management experience
• Strong working knowledge of business planning applications such as TM1 and/or SAP Business Planning & Consolidation [SAP BPC]
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONs
• MBA
• Financial Planning Experience
• Direction of third party providers (consultants, system integrators) strongly preferred.
