Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Director for the HR Service Center (HRSC) is responsible for leading a large organization that provides support for HR administration including leave of absence administration, processing transactions and providing answers regarding HR policy and procedures to over 300,000 associates nationwide, and in Canada, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam. The HRSC receives in excess of one million contacts per year from Home Depot associates. The HRSC Director is responsible for establishing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) governing service levels, working with the Services Architecture team to establish processes to best meet the SLAs, establishing associate contact standards and maintaining performance against the SLAs and standards.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure that the HRSC is providing high quality HR services that meet the needs of the field
• Leads a large team that operates in a fast paced environment.
• Establish and further refine appropriate SLAs to govern services offered by the HRSC.
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data may require evaluation of uncertain factors. Demonstrates analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems using expertise, creativity and judgment. Confident decision maker. Will become involved in compliance matters as assigned.
• Drive operational effectiveness and efficiency through the use of metric reporting and trend analysis of business results and pertinent data that drive process improvement within the HRSC
• Coach, develop and engage their team to ensure that can meet expectations and takes action as appropriate when performance does not meet expectations.
NATURE AND SCOPE
• Typically reports to Sr. Director, HR Services
• Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:10 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• Master's degree

• Demonstrates strong leadership skills in team management (including line management experience), project management and interacting with all levels of the organization. Confident in interaction with senior management team.
• Proven ability to lead and manage change (process and technology) across a global organization.
• Self motivated, able to work with little or no supervision, demonstrates initiative, tenacity, adaptability, teamwork, maturity under pressure, and anticipates and resolves problems before they develop.
• Minimum of ten years experience working in a role requiring highly analytical skills and process change management.
• Demonstrate high integrity in dealing with sensitive information
• Customer service orientation, proven history of relationships with customers and partners
