POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Management Office Manager/Director is the lead of the PMO team and is responsible for the overall management of large scale cross-functional projects. This role has overall accountability of the assigned projects and has the responsibility to develop project timelines and holding cross-functional team members accountable for action completion. Identifies interdependencies and ensures the project team balances and understands the impact of cross-functional decisions. Ensures that all key milestones are met and that potential issues are elevated to the appropriate levels and stakeholders for resolution. This role is an active participate and leads the resolution process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads the PMO team, assigns work, balances workload, coaches team on PMO current best approaches (CBAs)
• Defines the list of dependent projects, processes, and decisions that need to be completed to reach the overall project goals. Resolves and balances conflicting priorities and timelines. Maintains cross-functional view and influences across multiple functional areas, including Regulatory, Quality, Procurement, Planning, Marketing, Sales, Packaging Development, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Distribution.
• Manages project deliverables through effective constructions of timelines, schedules, deliverables and stakeholder management. Utilizes all McCormick’s project management CBAs. Communicates project status to all levels of the organization as required along with any changes to original scope and/or commitments.
• Develops and directs execution of the change management process and training plans.
• Coordinates the identification and resolution of project risks and issues. Effectively utilizes the project team to drive continuous improvement and facilitate resolution.
• Application of Startup systems and tools such as “Commissioning/Qualification/Verification” matrix
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• MBA
• Minimum required certifications required to perform the job: PMP Certification
• 10+ years of business experience across multiple disciplines and large scale project management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and in sensitive situations.
• Ability to travel and work across multiple disciplines with competing priorities.
• Demonstrated managerial skills, presentation, negotiation and communication skills. Ability to effectively relate and to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
• Knowledge of project management principles, resource management and change management techniques.
• Accountable for delivering the results for multi-million dollar projects that can impact up to $100MM in revenue. Driver of project milestones that contribute to the success and achievement of business deliverables. The project manager will manage large-scale projects with significant budgetary impact. Manages communications with steering committees, key business resources, and senior management. Must demonstrate ability to track the comprehensive business case for the project, define project success criteria, monitor and review all project economics to include costs, efficiency, effectiveness, responsiveness, and risk.
