Position Summary
The Director, Digital Optical will lead the digital optical business at CVS, closely collaborating with the Health Services team to grow CVS’ overall optical business. This leader will drive the digital optical innovation roadmap and lead online merchandising to improve the in-store and online customer experience.
You will have demonstrated the ability to drive innovation, generate impact and influence at all levels. Prioritize and deliver on multiple, concurrent business initiatives that have significant financial impact. You will deeply understand how digital and technology plays a role to grow CVS optical businesses and are able to design a customer experience that increases lifetime value and reduce cost to serve both in-store and online.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead the product strategy and technology initiatives that create premier optical digital experiences
• Partner closely with key partners including the Optical business leads to define the product vision, roadmap, and supporting processes required
• Synthesize customer insights and ask key questions to inform the shape of customer experiences
• Apply customer mindset in defining, building and prototyping new digital tools and experiences to support the CVS Health customer
• Assess, recommend and execute on optical innovation opportunities and partners that tie to the strategy and optimize for long term enterprise growth Support the optical leadership team in complex IT related projects to improve the in-store and online consumer experience.
• Build and execute digital merchandising, promotions and marketing plans that align with the in-store experience
• Ensure end-to-end quality and non-functional performance of all aspects of digital products
• Prioritize and handle multiple projects and work streams to ensure viable products are built and manage a roadmap of future enhancements
• Build productive cross functional relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and other external partners
• Use critical communication skills and business reporting effectively, both verbally and on paper to support senior leadership presentations
• Anticipate bottlenecks, make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical and operational constraints while continuously improving the customer experience.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in team building and leadership involving direct, indirect, and non-reports with shown ability to work in a matrix team environment and demonstrate thought leadership and ability to influence where no direct line of control exists
8-10+ years of experience using quantitative skills with the ability to link product design and features to strategic objectives while using hard data and metrics to substantiate assumptions and recommendations
10+ years of experience in roles which require initiative to drive projects, tenacity to delivery results in a complex environment, and the ability to manage across many projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Track record effectively building, leading and improving digital products and experiences
- Self-motivated, high energy individual who can easily function in a high demand, performance driven environment of action to engage diverse audiences and influence senior executives
- The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper, and with all levels of an organization
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and project management counterparts to deliver products/services.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
