General Summary:
The Direct or Marketing Analytics will lead the marketing organization’s use of data and measurement to drive the business, guide the customer centricity roadmap, and inform the merchandising and store operations teams.
This role and its direct reports will play a critical role in evaluating retail marketing and digital campaign performance across multiple data sets, analyzing customer trends, proactively identifying and quantifying opportunities for new strategies and tactics, and communicating insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
Candidates for this role will possess strong problem solving, keen analytical skills, and a drive to build out a best in class marketing analytics function.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Continue efforts to build out marketing analytics capabilities that guide our efforts in CRM, Digital, eCommerce, and our Shoe Perks rewards program.
• Responsible for analyzing complex data structures to generate useful customer insights; and working with internal partners on projects and ad-hoc analysis.
• Identify key trends, issues and opportunities to optimize our marketing spend, improve customer retention, increase product interaction, and maximize profitability.
• Partner with other business stakeholders (Real Estate, Store Operations, Merchandising, etc.) to leverage customer data and analytics to inform key business decisions such as real estate site selection, merchandising and assortment planning.
• Manage a team of 1-2 analysts leveraging advanced analytics tools to uncover insights in customer behavior and business profitability - provide guidance and best practices as necessary for their professional development.
Requirements (knowledge, skills, and abilities):
• 5+ years experience in customer analysis and insight development, customer behavioral analytics, database marketing, marketing research or related field.
• Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Marketing, Economics. MS/MBA preferred.
• Experience with a wide variety of advanced analytics techniques to include a strong understanding of retail best practices and trends.
• Hands on experience/knowledge of analytical tools such as SQL/SAS, R, and database solutions.
• Strong problem solving skills including statistical analysis, data structuring and quantitative reasoning.
• Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with internal customers at all levels.
• Exceptional communications skills (both verbal and written), with experience presenting to audiences across all levels.
