About this Job:
The Director of Operational Compliance is responsible for managing all aspects for compliance at Ross as well as improving product flow related business processes. The position works cross functionally and operates effectively on a senior level within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Execute and continuously improve compliance; actively monitor progress and proactively develop solutions in response to the changing business needs.
• Perform business analysis at the strategic/operational level to identify risks and implement business process enhancements.
• Monitor trends and recommend potential areas of improvement that will streamline the processing of merchandise, reduce product damages, reduce buyer workload and ultimately improve company profitability.
• Manage ticketing (pre-ticketing concentration, changes to ticket format, and additional ticket types), process improvement and third party vendor relationship.
• Direct and improve the damage reduction process by collaborating with Stores, Distribution Centers and Merchants. Conducts Vendor audits.
• Partner with Legal and Strategy to maintain and improve compliance standards for inbound merchandise.
• Promote educational and training programs and activities to ensure compliance with federal, state and industry standards and obligations.
• Effectively manage human resources including hiring, performance management and staff development.
• Maintain up to date expert knowledge of compliance regulations, quality improvement concepts, operational principles and practices
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of management experience
• 5+ years in retail or consumer products
• General Retail Merchandising and Supply Chain knowledge
• Knowledge of compliance procedures, policies, standards and obligations
• Prior experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices and maintaining strict process guidelines
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style; ability to interface at all levels within the organization including facilitation, consultation, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Strong analytical and conceptual ability
• Strategic and critical thinking
• Resourcefulness and experienced maneuvering ambiguous situations; ability to look at situations from several points of view
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast pace work environment and adapt to changing circumstances
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite
