We’re looking for a Director to join our Global Creative Studios in Seattle. You’ll work with talented creatives and marketers, managing highly complex communications programs for our loyalty program and partnerships. See your work come to life in Starbucks stores and digital properties all over the world.
This position contributes to Starbucks success by approaching project and account management as much art as it is science, with a proven ability to bring business strategies over the finish line and into production/execution while understanding the importance of strong partnerships with cross-functional teams as a vital means to do so. Someone who can fill the role as equal parts creative confident, logical task-master, strategic thinker and collaborative team member.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated history of leading cross functional teams through highly complex digital programs. They also need to have strong instincts on how to observe, assess and create a plan of action that fits the project while making thoughtful decisions along the way.
You have a strong knowledge of digital platforms and the ability to build and drive creative strategy, manage and execute work in tight timelines, while fostering cross-team collaboration, will set you apart from the field.
As a Director, you will…
• Drive creative process forward, ensuring creative and strategic alignment and collaboration across functions and channels (creative studio, marketing, category, global digital products and starbucks technology).
• Manage internal creative and agency relationships for key initiatives including scope of work, fees and quarterly reviews.
• Lead through ambiguity, articulating and influencing fluid scope and deliverables across multiple business priorities.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal and external groups to meet/exceed Starbucks Creative Studio standards. Influence high-quality creative solutions that solve business problems.
• Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the team promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership and teamwork to achieve business results.
• Lead highly complex digital programs for the Global Creative Studio from briefing to execution and delivery, serving as strategic thought partner for business partners and studio partners.
• Partner and collaborate with creative team and production team to ensure the work delivers against goals and meets/exceeds Starbucks Global Creative Studio standards.
• Lead presentations of creative work to clients and leadership with a firm understanding of strategy and context.
• Manage multiple priorities. Ensure resolution of all issues through dialogue and collaboration. Escalate issues as necessary, and delegate as needed.
• Prepare, communicate with and educate client groups on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
• Understand the essential dynamics, strategies and drivers of assigned client businesses in order to provide value-add and strategic counsel on campaign and program strategy.
• Allocates work and resources within team to meet business needs.
• Partners with and ensures clients submit comprehensive strategic briefs to efficiently initiate work in the Global Creative Studio.
• Communicate, support and recommend processes for improving business planning, cross functional communication, work integration and teamwork between partners from cross-functional departments.
• Identify and track success metrics and program performance measures to evaluate program effectiveness and to integrate into future initiatives.
• Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members, challenging and inspiring team to achieve business results.
• Oversee training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and make effective staffing decisions. Conduct and ensure the completion of performance reviews

• Account and project management experience in a design/advertising agency or in-house marketing department (10 years)
• Management of complex digital programs from inception through delivery (10 years)
• Strategic planning and execution (10 years)
• Experience building, leading and mentoring teams (7+ years)
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop workflow processes for efficiency and continual changing business needs
