GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Director of Merchandising Operations and Signing is responsible for leading all merchandising initiatives, promotional and everyday signing packages for both Ross and dd’s brands. The Director will be the primary point of contact for the Merchant Operations organization in New York and Los Angeles and in this capacity will be responsible for executing merchandising programs and signing strategies in stores through influence, communication and collaboration. Additionally they are responsible for managing the creative and print vendors and related budgets to deliver multiple promotional signing packages throughout the year. The Director works closely with SVP, EVP level leaders in Store Operations as well as the buying offices, as well as in close partnership with Stores, Marketing, IT and Strategic Sourcing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Build’s, leads and develops team of high performing associates with a focus on execution, project management, problem solving and process management.
• Partners and influences in collaboration with the Buying Offices in New York and Los Angeles, Fashion Office, senior leaders and other business partners to develop merchandising programs to be executed in two distinct brands, Ross and dd’s. This includes all monthly, quarterly and annual communications, merchandise flows, fixture initiatives and execution strategies and programs.
• Is the lead partner for senior field leaders (SVP/RVP) on all merchandising initiatives and challenges. In this role is the first responder and primary source of communication and direction to lead and influence change and execution.
• Leads and supports merchandising initiatives and programs as it relates to all other store operations programs, priorities and initiatives including New Store Openings, Remodels and Special Projects.
• Owns and maintains, through replenishment or upgrading, the everyday signing package and vendor relationships in both brands including support of New Stores and Remodel
• In partnership with Marketing, the Fashion Office and vendors, leads development of multiple promotional signing initiatives for both Ross and dd’s
• Owns and maintains all expense and capital budgets associated with all related Merchandising and Signing projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• BA/BS required, MBA preferred
• 5-7 years of Store Operations Experience
• 5-7 years of Team Leadership Experience in Corporate or Multi Unit environment
• 5-7 years of Project Management
• PowerPoint and Excel skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
