Job Summary
The Digital Senior Media Planner is a crucial position working in conjunction with the Brand Strategy team to develop digital strategies and media buys that achieve client objectives. Senior Media Planners show independence in planning while acting as a leader, providing guidance to Assistant Planners and Planners.
Ultimately, this role drives innovation at both the strategic and campaign level, and cultivates key partnerships to deliver the best digital media opportunities to the client across display, mobile, social and video.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
30%- Leads assistant planners, planners in plan development in areas such as:
• Develop strong and effective media plans incorporating display, mobile, social and video based on sound strategies and research
• Cross check plans and all supporting documents (spec/TI sheets, IOs, billing docs)
• Participate in overall client display, mobile, social and video strategy development in order to deeply understand the role marketplace media plays in larger media objectives
• Partake in group brainstorming sessions with the intention of bringing great ideas to life
30%- Leading campaign execution
• Supervise insertion order process and ensure adherence to terms and conditions
• Work with creative agency on ad development to ensure media and creative strategies work in harmony
• Work with Account team to ensure plans are on strategy and meet client objectives
• Manage social buys from set-up to keyword selection to targeting buckets to optimization to reporting. Combine data analysis and client feedback to configure, operate and optimize campaigns to meet client objectives
• Manages execution of the full spectrum of social planning and buying efforts
25%- Effectively managing team development and process
• Manage workload and client initiatives both up (to Supervisor and AMD) and down (to Planner & Assistant Planner)
• Provide active voice in communication optimization strategies, proactively communicating challenges and opportunities across display, mobile, social and video
• Work with PMD partners to improve dashboard and product to better serve our clients’ goals
15%- Industry/client leadership and insights
• Confidently present clients and listen/adapt based on feedback
• Make optimization recommendations based on reports provided by Campaign Management team
• Determine set-up, including testing methodologies, reporting requirements, and optimization requirements, for ensuring full impact and efficiency of each campaign
• Lead analysis on media delivery, performance, trends and future implications in PCAs and help brand strategists communicate campaign success metrics to clients
• Manage client relationships
• Meets with subject matter experts at frequency and consistency set by Integrated Associate Media Director and respective Subject Matter Expert for educational and continued advancement
• Seek new trends and opportunities within the industry within display, mobile, social and video; develop POVs to share with clients and media team
• Represent agency at industry conferences and events
• Develop Case Studies for internal and new business use (2x per year)

Knowledge and Skills Required
• BA/BS required
• Recommended experience: 3 - 5 years
• Advance computer knowledge (Excel, Powerpoint)
• Experience with a third party ad server (DART/DFA preferred)
• Strong writing, presentation and strategic and analytical thinking skills
• Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills
• Problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
• Organized, and detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
• Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle ad hoc requests
• Strong team player
• Interest and familiarity through use of digital media
• Experience w/ excel helpful, but not required
