The trade editorial intern will assist with the day-to-day operations of the trade editorial department; responsibilities will include standard administrative work such as mailings, filing, and processing invoices. In addition, the Intern will learn about the book production process and provide assistance as needed (e.g., reading and formatting draft manuscripts, organizing photo insert materials, securing permissions). Other responsibilities will include reading submissions and drafting manuscript reports and letters in response to submissions; compiling publication history on house authors; and researching prospective authors and book topics.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
