Required Skills:
Reporting to the HR Business Partner Director, the Human Resources Generalist will have strong business acumen helping leaders deliver on their day to day HR strategy. Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience as a Human Resources Generalist, preferably in a matrix environment.
The ideal candidate must have demonstrated excellence in: communication, negotiation and consulting skills at all levels in an organization; multi-tasking or approaches to problem solving and decision making; assisting with the implementation of projects; assisting with training and implementing change management plans as well as helping to manage conflicts. A strong knowledge of Human Resources policies, programs, methods, practices, and procedures related to Employee Relations, Talent Management, Performance Management is also important in this role.
What you’ll be doing:
• Working with the HRBP Director in Playa Vista, to build effective relationships with business leaders and staff, to help deliver on talent development strategies, organizational change plans and building of effective teams.
• Working with employee and manager level staff to partner and coach, around talent development, team building, employee relations matters, etc.
• Assist in the coordination, execution and delivery of HR programs and activities, including training sessions and/or department specific facilitated events.
• Assist with promoting and ensuring a strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization.
• Provide advice and counsel, by helping to facilitate resolution of employee concerns as it relates to conflict resolution and code of conduct expectations.
• Provide expertise and collaborate with HR Employee Experience Team including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Development & Culture, and Workforce Planning.
• Coordinate all PV employee focused events (ie. Town Halls, Friends & Family Screenings, Charity Events, Office Lunches and Offsite Events/Gatherings)
• Partner on the implementation and administration of all HR programs,activities, and annual processes such as Performance Management and Compensation annual processes, Talent Review Process, Talent Acquisition Process, etc.
• Educate and advise on all applicable legislation and policies related to employee matters and managing risks and compliance to government standards and Company policy.
• Maintaining a strong knowledge of current HR practices and trends and apply them to the business.
• Gather information and perform analysis on people related trends, as requested.
• Assist in drafting and updating HR documents and correspondence ie. I-9 forms, immigration, job descriptions, etc.
• Assist with other projects and administrative duties as assigned.
• Should we mention something about being up to date on all current benefit offerings, ready to answer questions and direct employees to the correct HR team member.
What we’re looking for:
• A Bachelor’s degree ideally with a business concentration and/or Human Resources Management.
• Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
• A human resources generalist with 3-5 years of experience working in a HR Business Partner Model.
• Experience in the areas of performance management principles, career development, talent management and employee relations.
• Ability to build strong rapport with staff, through active listening, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff through a pro-active client focused approach.
• An excellent ability to influence others to help staff effectively solution issues/ideas and help develop within their team
• Action-oriented, multi-tasker who possesses a high degree of energy and initiative and is known to have a knack for getting things done.
• Highly effective presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
• Creative Problem-Solver.
