I. Job Summary
Major goals and objectives.
WHNS FOX Carolina, a Meredith Corporation station, is in search of an Account Planner. The Account Planner position is designed to ensure the success of client multi-screen campaigns and expand client relationships through daily communication and strategic planning. The job opportunity also is intended to reward successful individuals in this role by offering a path for professional grown within Meredith Broadcast, Print and Digital sales teams. The Account Planner candidate must be collaborative, goal driven, self-motivated and detail oriented. The chosen candidate with work in partnership with AE’s to develop and fully execute strategic multi-screen marketing initiatives to include television, digital and OTT to meet key client objectives. The Account Planner is the key liaison between the client and FOX Carolina Sales AE. This person will manage all phases of development for each campaign from research and planning to execution, optimization and analysis. Candidate will preferably have worked in a media (TV, Cable or Digital) sales organization in sales or in sales support.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Proactively pulls information from Client Needs Analysis and works with Account Executives to thoroughly understand client marketing objectives and expected results.
• Partners with Marketing and Sales leadership to utilize Kantar, Polk, Nielsen, Wide Orbit, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Matrix, Kantar, Rhiza and other metrics to make proposal recommendations.
• Coordinates with DOS, LSM, AE for multi-screen solutions – television, digital and OTT - integrated into overall client presentation.
• Creates presentations that can be delivered as complete solutions achieving all client needs.
• Maximizes inventory usage to ensure proposal delivery.
• Ability to sell through the rationale of each campaign recommendation for the Account Executive to deliver to the client and be grounded in research and data to achieve client objectives.
• Create consistent, open communication with all Account Executives. Must be able to balance the competing needs of multiple Account Executives at the same time.
• Regularly meet and gather feedback on the client schedules that were built to understand necessary changes to improve future schedules.
• Ensure all necessary accounts meet Posting requirements.
• Partner with Account Executives to review and evaluate campaign effectiveness.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum three years experience in a sales promotional, research and/or marketing position in an environment with successful results in creating and developing multi-media / cross-platform campaigns. Prior TV or advertising agency experience preferred. Working knowledge and expertise of wide orbit, Scarborough, Adviews or CMR type of programs preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience in media or sales environment
• Knowledge of broadcast and cable television; and digital products, a plus
• Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communications required.
• Ability to translate data, information, and research into powerful points of view—ability to craft and tell a compelling story recommended.
• Previous experience supporting a team of Sales, advertising, or marketing professionals is helpful. Previous experience in an Ad Agency, Media, and/or Ad Sales team is highly preferred.
• Experience and strong knowledge of research databases, tools and applications, including (but not limited to) Nielsen, Scarborough, MRI, Kantar, BIA/Kelsey, eMarketer, and comScore are helpful.
• Familiarity with and experience in digital marketing; understanding of online campaign development, metrics, and optimization strategies.
• Working knowledge of client needs, example, ‘branding’ campaigns vs ‘call to action’ and the difference between those schedules
• Familiar with sourcing and providing rationale when necessary
• Clear knowledge of media terms as well as media formulas & calculations. Experience in estimating ratings is helpful.
