The Category Marketing Manager will serve as a liason between the Product Marketing organization and the Brand Marketing organization to develop and implement product specific marketing strategies. This role will be responsible for collaboratively developing, implementing and executing strategic marketing plans and tactics for the business categories they support. With the goal of attracting potential new customers, retain existing customers and drive the needs of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead marketing strategy ideation, development, and execution efforts across multiple products and/or product categories.
• Proactively partner with product management on long range strategy development to create and implement the category’s marketing calendar.
• Provide leadership support in all mass brand advertising, direct mail, social media, public relations, Customer Experience Marketing and eCommerce efforts.
• Write and manage external agency briefing documents; gain alignment with product management and the broader Marketing Brand organization.
• Create and deliver go-to-market plans
• Provide product marketing leadership on direct marketing, social media, public relations, retail merchandising, digital marketing and E-commerce efforts
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications, Product Management or related discipline required; MBA preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in consumer packaged goods, technology, within an advertising agency, or a corporate marketing department
• Experience developing and executing complex Integrated Marketing plans / Go-To Market plans across multiple marketing channels.
• Project management experience with an ability to break down complex problems into manageable goals is required
• Experience with Adobe InDesign or other creative development products is ideal.
