We’re a hands-on team that’s addicted to finding viral trends, breaking traffic records, and obsessing over the latest pop culture news—and we have a lot of fun while doing it. CL reaches an average of 18 million users a month, we’re the most engaged social brand in the HDM portfolio, and we continue to exceed expectations at a breakneck pace.
In this role, you’ll report to the Deputy Editor and work with a small, passionate team to identify lifestyle trends, discover click-y new products to feature in e-commerce write-ups, hunt for holiday ideas, and track down news in the spaces our audience cares about. And of course, you’ll write about all of it.
Responsibilities:
• Pitch and write editorial content, including news (no Chip and Joanna story is too small!), service, and evergreen
• Pay attention to content performance and digital trends on a daily basis to constantly adjust pitching strategy and packaging
• Utilize CMS tools, strategically select photos and videos, and request original graphics to optimize all written content for maximum engagement, affiliate revenue, reader retention, and shareability
• Oversee production of monthly features from the print magazine, including prepping photos
Requirements:
• At least 2-3 years of experience creating women’s lifestyle content, preferably at a digital-first outlet
• Familiarity with working in a CMS and with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Trends
• Knowledge of SEO and best practices for optimizing content for the web

• Skilled in original reporting and writing voice-y first person stories
• Versatility, agility, and the ability to shift gears quickly in a daily web publishing environment
• Experience using social scheduling tools, producing multimedia, and/or knowledge of video- or photo-editing platforms and software a plus
• Bachelor's degree
Note: For consideration, resumes must be submitted in .pdf format with a cover letter, salary requirements, and a link to a portfolio of work
