Requirements
Position Description:
Macmillan Special Markets is seeking a Sales Assistant handling bulk sales to the corporate and premium specialty market. The position reports to the Director of Corporate & Premium Sales supporting sales efforts to the corporate and premium markets. This includes processing bulk orders, putting together targeted sell sheets and mailings, sales lead follow-up, and resolution of customer service issues. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general administrative duties and mailings, support for account presentations, account maintenance and sales, order trafficking, and managing general sales material flow.
Major Responsibilities:
• Executing all aspects of orders by new customers (i.e. fielding initial calls and emails, quoting prices, opening new accounts, performing customer service follow-up)
• Creating sales materials in PowerPoint and MS Word
• Writing pitch letters and researching new business opportunities within industries such as entertainment, sports, CPG, pharmaceutical/medical, etc.
• Supporting the Freshman Year Experience programs and other custom promotional projects.
• Handling time-sensitive and important author event orders efficiently
• Daily interaction via email and phone with customers and internal departments such as Speakers Bureau, Marketing, Editorial, Supply Chain, Operations, and Customer Service

• Ability to be flexible and manage shifting priorities

• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint
Experience Needed:
• Prior sales experience preferred but not required
Educational Background Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree
