Job Summary:
The Director of Outside Sales will be responsible for helping to define and implement strategies to improve performance of Comcast’s field sales organization.
Responsibilities:
• Maximizing sales improvement by providing leadership to the field sales channel to ensure productivity targets are met and or exceed
• Work across Region, Division and Corporate teams to develop strategies, identify best practices and recommend improvements to systems and processes
• Assist with the development and execution of plans necessary to improve the field sales teams’ performance including: sales skills, prospecting, time management, training, forecasting, product knowledge and closing business
• Work closely with the field sales management team to discuss and evaluate opportunities to improve performance at each level in the organization
• Monitor competitive activity and market conditions, providing feedback and suggestions for marketing programs and product development
• Willingness and desire to travel (25-35%) to support the field sales organization and their activities
• Perform other duties as required
Core Responsibilities:
• Partners with Product Sales Team leaders and Marketing management to identify key reports, functionality, and system tasks to support the sales process and improve tracking, usage, and trend identification.
• Manages partnership with Product Sales teams by overseeing report generation, sales packet compilation, and ad-hoc administrative support as it relates to client prospecting, renewals, and development.
• Leads the creation and maintenance of inside sales reports, as developed by members of the Product Sales Team.
• Works closely with Sales management, the Sales team, and the Marketing team to identify marketing prospects and support lead tracking initiatives.
• Oversees daily activity reports and reporting trends and makes recommendations as needed on changes to reports, tactics, and current strategy.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Business, Marketing
• Generally requires 12+ years related experience
Additional Requirements:
• 10+ years of successful sales management experience in a related field
• Experience in a transactional sales environment required
• Strong background in Telecom Services, Software or Hardware Sales, preferred
• Demonstrated success working with internal and external resources to build support new initiatives
• Experience working in a matrix managed environment
• Ability to provide direction and execute plans in support of business strategy
• Ability to clearly and effectively set goals and then attain them as evidenced by a track record
• Strong business acumen and the ability to lead and develop a sales organization
• Exhibit the sales skills required to lead by example
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong negotiation skills
• Must have computer literacy (i.e., spreadsheets and word processing)
