Requirements
Position Description:
Macmillan is looking for a Senior Audio Producer to help drive growth and interest in its podcasts. The right candidate will not just be a producer but a marketer and visionary as we work to build our network. The Senior Producer will grow our network by producing podcasts, and by deeply contributing to decision-making as it relates to talent acquisition, business strategy, and podcast development.
Candidates should have a portfolio that highlights a proven ability to build compelling audio narrative.
Major Responsibilities:
• Along with the Associate Director and VP, you will set and execute the strategy (from content, to distribution, to marketing/audience development) for Macmillan Podcasts
• Help conceive, pilot, and launch new shows
• Manage and execute show production from concept through publish
• Work with strategic partners to help podcasts reach new audiences
• Collaborate with team members on marketing and launch plans
• Provide ongoing feedback to help talent reach their full potential
• Balance several short- and long-term projects simultaneously
• Mentor and guide assistant producers by providing feedback and edits
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Experience developing content and content strategy within the radio or podcast industry
• Experience with Protools
• Experience with or an understanding of business models and sponsorship formats for audio advertising
• An interest in thinking creatively about and pushing the limits of audio content
• Ability to identify and develop talent
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
Experience Needed:
• 3-5 years working at a major podcast network or public radio station
