Role Summary
The Requirements Planning Sr. Manager is responsible for maintaining and monitoring all pertinent data related to the Bill of Material (BOM) and Item Master in the Oracle ERP system. Role will drive end-to-end MRP processes and interface with Sales, PMO, Supply Chain and Engineering functions while exchanging data to define part parameters, forecasted and independent sales order demand and alignment of customer required ship dates in CRM, ERP, and Engineering Product Database systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan material requirements and ensure schedule alignment and availability of the material using Oracle ERP system.
• Address daily exception messages in Oracle MRP system.
• Schedule utilizing MRP demand to execute planned purchase and OSP work orders. Utilize released and created work orders to ensure compliance with the planned demand to support sales and inventory levels, while effectively utilizing available capacity.
• Analyze, investigate, and assure the accuracy of the MRP action messages.
• Administer the Oracle Bill of Material (BOM) as received from Engineering; evaluate BOM gaps, ensure material requirements are well understood and communicated with a focus on long lead time and obsolete materials.
• Determine and maintain critical planning item attributes in Oracle through collaboration with other departments.
• Maintain and perform detailed analysis of planning KPI’s, metrics and Supply Chain Dashboard reports.
• Lead and develop the SIOP process meetings for forecasting demand and analyzing inventory trends and sales opportunities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional business teams to develop the best economic strategy for demand planning to support production.
• Participate in company initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvements.
• Create and maintain schedules for sequencing and lead time for each operation to successfully meet shipping dates according to forecasts to align supply and demand and optimize cash-flow requirements.
• Communicate with internal customers as to status of all open orders/jobs and informing of exceptions impacting customer on time delivery shipments.
• Provide management visibility over work-in-progress, material availability, and potential production issues, ensuring that personnel, equipment, tools, materials and services are available as needed.
• Make or recommend revision to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met, includes preparing back-up schedules
Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Materials Management, or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years of planning experience in a production environment or similar experience.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues with processes/data and generate solutions.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and have strong organizational skills to meet strict deadlines.
• In-depth working knowledge of an ERP/MRP Oracle system.
• Preferred: Experience or exposure to an Aerospace / Defense manufacturing MRP system.
• Experience with Oracle Demand Planning or other major planning software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with minimal supervision.
Skills/Interests
• Previous Hands-on Implementation experience with Manufacturing MRP/ERP Systems
• Strategic Partnership / Relationship management – proactively support objectives of other departments
• Analytical abilities (Advanced MS Excel - MACROS, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
• Support the implementation readiness review process
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
This position will report to the VP of Global Supply Chain. This position requires heavy interaction with internal customers via telephone as well as other departments and vendors.
