Description
Staff accountant will work with all areas of the organization as well as the Accounting Manager, General Manager and corporate Sr. Accounting Manager. Individual will be working in an accounting team environment and therefore must be willing to assist others and request assistance as needed.
Responsibilities will include:
• Processing and Accounting for all aspects of Royalty payments to authors including:
◦ Gathering W-9’s/W-8, contracts, other pertinent documents and forwarding them to the corporate office for set up.
◦ Pulling online 3rd party vendor reports and uploading them into royalty software.
◦ Preparing check batch reports for author royalty payments according to corporate office specifications and forwarding them in a timely manner for payment by month end.
◦ Reconciliation of monthly royalty processing and accruals.
◦ Working with Author Services Reps and IT to locate and resolve issues as they arise.
• Preparation of monthly commission reports.
• Assist with month end reconciliation spreadsheets to support the financial statements
• Assist with the daily processing in the accounting department as needed.
Requirements:
• 2 to 3 years of experience in an accounting department, including reconciliations and spreadsheets that support the financial statements.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• QuickBooks experience helpful.
• Proven experience working with multiple software packages.
• Must be detail oriented.
